Miniature Aircraft Nitro/Gas Helicopters > Clutch spacing for 1005 Gasser w/g231 Toxic motor

I am beginning to think it will never end.
I went out this evening to fly and it seems that the punch was gone (from when I flew in the morning and the previous day) When I checked everything I happened to touch the clutch and it was hot. I got out my temp gauge and it was at 130. This was about 15 to 20 minutes after a ten minute run. It was 92 degrees and there was a 4mph breeze.

I had the AP mount under the heli so the load was heavier (no camera) and as I have not checked the clutch bell temp before the first thought is that it is worn and needs to be replaced.

How much gap is there for a new installation of clutch and bell. Does the temp increase that much (40 degrees)?

Thanks

Just got off the phone with Min Air and it seems that the current spec is 13 15 /1000's total for say 6.5 to 6.5 on each side.

I was told that the older 1005 clutches had 15 / 1000's per side.

ALso Bob indicated that the 130 was not extremely high.

I then went outthis morning without the mount and did the same type flight (up and down in a hover 1 to 20' rapid asscent and decent and after one tank the temp was 98. The outside temp was 72. So I will check the space between the clutch pad and bell housing and replace if more than 15 /1000's.
