Hello everyone. Take a look at these pictures and could you tell me if I bought the right items for my helicopter? I sure hope so because I have already purchased these items.

Looks like good stuff for a Vibe to me. I probably would have chosen different cyclic servos, but they should serve you well. They have more than enough torque for the job.

It looks like you still need a throttle servo, though.

bls351? Now thats a killer servo. Although everyone likes the bls451 just as before the 9451, I found the 9351 (now the bls351) to be better for cyclic applications. Sure, they are a little slower than the 451 but look at that hughe tork... we are talking about almost 90 pounds per inch of brute force holding that swashplate. In real case scenario many swear that the 351 end up being faster than the 451 as they don't loose as much as speed under load as the 451. There is no such thing as overkill when it comes to cyclic servos. I'm using the 9351 myself on a vibe... 50!

Of course, if you arn't brand loyal, the JR 8717 (aka 8915 in europe) would be my first choice. Stronger, faster and cheaper although I wouldn't go the crack setup route (call me old fashioned)

The first pic shows head shims which is used to lower the compression on the engine if you're using high nitro fuel. The second is a woodruff key. You might have noticed a small slot in the crankshaft were that key fits right in. Its of no use for us Heli guys but is used by the plank guys when installing a prop and spinner.

Replace the 9256 with a BLS251, much better hold, nice for F3C.

Much more precise!

Is it ok to use 95mm tail blades on this heli? Also, are the plastic tail blades ok to use? Would the tail not holding indicate too short tail blades?

I was told that you shouldn't really go above 95mm carbons on the tail. I run 95mm radix without any hold issues, apart from the tailbox holding together that is!! It's imperative you epoxy the tail shaft bearings into the tailcase, also have you green loctite ( bearing mounted) the clutch bell bearing to the clutch bell?? If not you need to it will wear very quickly......

Be careful of headspeed too, it's all too easy to run an excessive headspeed on this model due to the low gear ratio. If you run too high a headspeed the tail g/box will start groaning at you.

Are you referring to the bearings and thrust bearings on the tail shaft or the bearing in the tail box itself that needs epoxy? Thanks for the reply btw.

The bearings in the tailbox itself, only the output shaft side really needs doing. ie tail blade side
