Two items.

1. The Xcell 60 I have has the old wire tail drive and I want to use the tail assembly for the 1005 that has the shaft drive. Is it just a matter of taking the wire drive coupling out of the tail box and replacing it with the shaft drive ball and pin female coupler?

2. Is the gear for the main gear for the two the same. I think they use a different pinion drive?

Thanks

Just change out the coupler at the tail end. There are parts that you can convert it to run TT.

The XCell 60 gear is different. Don't remember the the number of teeth, but they are different.

Thanks for the update. I am going to take out the two and compare them as I don't have any need for it if it is different, but will use it if not (the gear).

I will try and take the adapter off. It seems that they used jb weld on it.

the gasser has a larger tail pinion to speed up the tail because the gasser engine ran at a slower rpm. just use the pinion off the 60. You should also have the updated front shaft and bearing block so you dont have trouble with stripping the bevel gear. it is part # 0832. Tom

ps the part looks like this : http://cgi.ebay.com/X-cell-SE-PRO-0...1QQcmdZViewItem

Remember also MA made at least two versions of the TT, the earlier one being of a thinner/weaker construction. I'd reccommend running the newer TT which is beefier (have been told by MA that the construction process is more sound) and also has slightly different couplers at the main tranny and the tail rotor gearbox. The short version is part no. MA0867-8 and the long one is part no. MA0867-9
(obvivously depending on what boom length you currently use). You will need the female ends MA0800-6 for the front tranny and MA0800-7 for the tail rotor end.
