Got the kit yesturday and began the build almost immediately, Have to say the kit goes together lovely, and I have built a few different models in the last 18 months.
Got to the part with the instalation of the rubber sleeve over the feathering spindle applied my soapy water got it half way on to the spindle and then split it wide open
I have continued the rest of the buildas I will have to wait until after the week end to order a replacement. I did notice however there is a brass tube inside the same bag that fits over the spindle and looks like it was made to go on instaesd of the rubber version. Is this the case I would have checked the latest manual for info but Avants server is down at the mo.

The brass sleeve is not to go over the spindle. It's to assist in installed the 2nd c-clip once the heads built. you put the dampers on, the spacer then the c-clip. Put the brass tube over the spindle and get the washer and spindle bolt and tighten it down till the clip pops in the groove. Make sure not to over tighten it and bend the clip.

The rubber over the spindle isn't totally needed unless your going to be tossing this heli around to the likes of Szabo, Tork or HC. It's just added dampening and helps if you do alot of hard, fast pitch pumps.

got any large fuel tubing? should provide the same support as what comes in the kit. OR better yet any surgical tubing.

I used some window cleaner like 'glass plus or windex'. Just soak the spindle and sleeve, carefully push it into position. You can use a towel to help grab the sleeve if it gets too slippery.

I've flown the programmable head without the rubber sleeve with no problem. I believe the theory behind it is to make it a little more accurate, if there is a difference it is very hard to tell through the sticks.

The sleeve just takes a bit of pressure off the dampers, that is all. You can fly it without the sleeve. Fuel tubing works well too. Hit it with a bit of silicone spray, and it will go right on.
