I have a new Mini Joker coming next week and plan to run a 10S setup. Outrage has a new 10S1p that I want to use that is 290mm long. Will this work?

I use flightpower 10s 3300 long config batteries which are 300mm long. They fit but stick out over the carbon by some 50mm. I have never been able to get my CofG right with the long cells - it is too tail heavy. I would be tempted to try block config but watch width/height.

Better use 10s/3700. These 70 grams more in the front are necessary.
Also you need a receiver battery of about 150 grams. These weights are precalculated in the construction.
When you will fly with 8s you should use 4350 cells as 2x4 train and with 6s the 4900s as6x1.

Thanks for the replies, though I think 8S probably makes more sense for me since I am only beginning sport flight and far from 3D. Also, I have a supply of Outrage 4S1P 25C 3700mAh packs on hand that weigh 360g each and measure 31x46x138mm. Do you think these will work alright Gerd? Also, I would be interested in your motor, esc, pinion recommendations that would give me decent flight times, but that could be used for more aggressive flying later.

BTW, Gerd, just got back from a two week trip to Germany (Frankfurt, Cologne, Dusseldorf and Bochum) and had a wonderful time... Of course, I realize that's a long way from where you are...

8s is fine, you can use a motor with a Kv of about 750/V like actro 24-3 or Orbit 25-12. The 3700 battery pair you should mount as block in the front of the lower frame to optimize CG. For this you must enlarge the height of the battery about 4mm using spacers like #443 and longer screws for connection.

Pinion: first try stock pinion, I mean it will fit for you. Esc: Jazz 55-10-32

You were about 2-3 hrs away from us and I am sure you were shocked from the current gas price in Germany (~9$/gal). Perhaps next time...

Fortunately, I wasn't driving!

A little more help, if you please. The motor that came with it is an Actro 32-3 with a 6mm shaft. Also, I'll be using a Castle Creations HV110 ESC that came with also.

Will this combo work with 8S and, if so, what pinion should I use? I am assuming that stock pinions will not fit the shaft of this motor... I'm a noob to all this, but I didn't even know they made a 6mm shaft!

EDIT: Not only am I a noob, apparently I'm a dumba$$ too! The Actro is for the Ion-X2 on a 10S setup. The motor I have for the MiniJoker is a Tonic-X Z50A 750kv, so I guess I'm alright. Need to post the motor issue over on MA...
