e-Electric Batteries & Chargers > Quite possibly a stupid question on Lipo Charging.

Hey all,

I have a question.

At present I have a TP-1010C with a 210 Balancer that I use with all my
TP packs that I have. (no problem there).
If I want to purchase a different brand LIPO that requires charging through a JST-XH balancer/charging lead (like align for eg) as opposed to the deans lead like the TP packs, how exactly do I go about connecting this pack to the 1010C to be charged.

Is there an adapter, do I need a different charger?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

~NF

Adapters are out there to connect just about any battery to just about any balancer or charger. You may find you need an adapter for the charging connection and another for the balancer.

Any idea where I might find an adapter that would allow me to do this.

I didn't know that there were any batteries that REQUIRE you to charge through the balance connector.

You might just need the adapter for your balancer.

Perhaps there aren't. I might have jus got myself really confused.
That's why I'm hoping someone can clarify this.

Not sure about any others but the ElectriFly batteries from Great Planes (Tower),charge thru the balance adapter. Yes, you do see a deans connecter but don't try to charge thru it. These batteries have been working great in my 450 models. All in one shot using their own balancer, now there's marketing.

I have a couple of packs that I do the same thing, if your charging with deans connectors on some of your existing packs you can pick up one of these from Heli Direct for $2.60

Hmmm, The Equinox looks like a neat little unit, the Align 2in1 regs that I have that came with the 1900 pack didn't have a balancer and only a JST lead for charging and connection to the reg, so the adapter works great.

I setup my 1010C output leads with Anderson power pole connectors and made up a variety of jumpers from power pole to male deans, power pole to Futaba female to charge the Flight power rx packs, makes it real quick to change to whatever I need to charge.

The Equinox will only work with the ElectriFly batteries.
