Miniature Aircraft Nitro/Gas Helicopters > Just bought a Stratus

I bought a used stratus the other day and from what i can see so far I am extremely happy with my purchase. Just a few questions though...
As i was looking at it and exploring its details i noticed the head said x-cell pro. is this the head used on all the stratus'? Is the normal head better?

Thanks
Jordan

That's really about it. The head and tail are the same on the New High ratio stratus as the older stratus. The head and tail on the Fury extreme are also now the same. Frame layout, bellcrank ratio are the major differences. I think the Stratus is an awesome heli no doubt, but I prefer the fuel tank in the front (yes I know I'm weird)

You like the fuel tank in the front? Come on, the real reason is you like the engine in the rear, much easier to access glow plug. I too have a Stratus and a Fury Extreme. Actually prefer the Extreme due to ease of glow plug access for starting and changing (but I fly my 2 Razors more due to not having to lug around all of those field supplies).

True. I cannot lie. I hate those remote glow adaptors. Not seeing the fuel level isn't a problem as long as I remember to set the timer. I don't really feel any real trim change as the CG changes as the fuel level goes down. It's a MUCH bigger issue on the vigor/Vibe.

Now i think i shouldn't have asked lol.

I think i'll fly it as it is and if i feel like i need some more cyclic and better response ill change over.

nah you're fine. if you're happy with the stratus as is, then no need to get the bw kit. hopefully this doesn't happen but if you get into a wicked crash, just buy the bw update kit at that point.

I wouldn't bother upgrading to HR. You can however buy the frame stiffeners. They are a plus. I have both; they both fly nice.

Just do it.

Invest in a switchglow. They work awesome and are very convenient.

As far as the BW version or high ratio version, unless you are a hard core 3D guy, you will not need it or possibly not like it.

You purchased one of the highest quality kits on the market, so don't even think twice about making the wrong descision. You will absolutely love the way it fly's.

Don't be afraid to ask guestions if you need help.

Good luck!
