Nope sorry, it is an F-15. Foxbat has HUGE engine nacelles (sp?) that have the vertical fin mounted directly to them. F-15 has a gap.

you should work for the NTSB.. It is an F-15... spent too much time around them.. I've never worked them, only F-16's..... but had many friends at spang that did and we drank many beers cleaning my buddies jet... Did I just say that out loud?? oh well.. I am separating next month.. look out you guys... I'm going to see if Seneca can get me some multi time in Florida...

Yes, I say F-15 too, Not because I have worked on them... That would be to easy. But the Pratt and Whitney engines also help to tell part of the story. One engine was shut down when this happend. Hard to tell if the other was running or not.

Also he didn't use his tail hook it's up and stowed.

And the key reason that F-15 looks weird is because it burnt to the ground
I had to say something, Fighter aircraft are how I make a living. So if I where to let the Mig 25 comment go by I would have to beat my self with a tickle me elmo doll.. HAHAHAHA

Boom,

All high speed fighter aircraft have a tail hook. This is used to catch a cable that is set up on all runways where fighters fly in and out of.

I'm sure you have seen Navy planes catching the cable on Aircraft carriers, well it's the same concept just on a runway.

Now, Air Force fighters (F-15, F-16, F-117) have it for emergencies on landing. They use the hook only for the odd emergency like brake failure or hydraulics failing, what ever the case may be. Looking at the picture the F-15's hook is still up and stowed so there was no obvious emergency going on when it started.

Besides the tailhook and tail differences.. there's a Hummer (I think) in the background.. don't think Russia has those

Hummers in Russia...

Dude, if Saddam had over 650 million stashed away I think the Russians might be able to get a few Hummers into Russia.....

Undisclosed Location in Saudi Arabia.

This aircraft is indeed a F-15 that belong to the Saudi Air Force. It has Pratt and Whitney F100-PW-220 engines. The reason I can be so sure is that I witnessed this event take place. It was my understanding that on taxi from the EOR (end of runway) onto runway, the nose wheel was at or around 90 deg from the turn onto the runway. Without straightening the nose the pilot slammed both engines into afterburner breaking the nose gear. Jet was configured with centerline tank, due to the friction of the tank dragging the ground it caught fire. The pilot exited the jet in a timely manner and didn't look back until he reached the nearest building almost a mile away. It was quite a fireworks display.
