Please help us understand your difficulties in supplying parts, and also the scale I want which will be out of stock for 6 months. I think some of the guys are getting frustrated at keeping there birds in the air due to the out of stock situation. It would seem that you could almost double or triple your parts and still not keep up! Some help here?

If it doesn't fly sell it!

Youd find that by calling century, at 800-656-8588 you would find out that most parts, and many more things are in stock, the website just is not updated enough. Most of the parts i am constantly ordering show out of stock on the site, but i call them, and sure enough, 2 days later...i have it!
Now of course this doesnt mean that ALL parts are in stock of course, but a good many of them are.

Yeah I have to agree with eeeeky on that one. Just call them and they'll literally walk over to the warehouse and check if the part is there.

Every time someone posts that they have problems with Century's parts availability, someone posts back that you have to call them, their website isn't accurate. 2 problems with this:

1. If you can't maintain an inventory on your website and reliably do ordering, then shut the damn thing down. All that it does is piss off customers and create bad press. Start having more dealers stock parts, and stop competing directly with them, since running an online store is something Century obviously can't do correctly.

2. Calling for parts is utter BS. After destroying my gasser last week, I placed an order for parts, and wouldn't you know it, some of them were out of stock. I called, and guess what? They really ARE out of stock! These posts make it sound like they have everything in, you just have to call. Well, I have a gasser paperweight that is testament to the fact that they do not have parts in stock, online, or on the phone.

I pray that Align comes through with a gasser, because I'll be getting rid of mine to pick it up, their stuff is simple to get parts for.

why is calling for parts troublesome? It seems to me like...holy crap, god forbid we actually have to pick up the phone to get something? Figure this, century has been in buisness for 20 years, and had an online shop for god knows how long. everyone ive ever asked, they'll tell you guys as well "the website is a pain to order from (and i agree, this is a week spot for century), but the minute you call, antonio, saul, or any of the others, are more than glad to go check."

All youd have to do to know for sure, is simply call them. Joe, Saul, Antonio, or Christina, would be more than happy to do their job, in helping you guys. If they dont have the aprt in the warehouse, they will literally open a kit!!! and get you your part. This has been done for me many times, and i love em! i have yet to get better service from anyone BUT heli-world...

What part of "I called, and they still didn't have the parts" don't you understand? THEY DON'T HAVE PARTS! I'm going to have to make my own if I want my gasser to fly again, because Century doesn't have parts online, on the phone, or anywhere. I'm probably going to have to order from Canada to get them.

Because I live in 2008, not 1988. If you have a website, and it has an online ordering system, I should be able to order from it. If I want to order parts for any of my other helis at 3am on a Saturday, I can do it. If I want to order parts for my Century, I'd better have time to kill during regular business hours.

So the question is, eeeeky, why should anyone buy a Century heli? They don't perform any better than the competition, the prices aren't anything special, and the only source for parts is completely inept at managing an online presence and predicting stock needs, so the only time you can be sure if you can get parts or not is Mon-Fri 9am - 5:30pm.

Unless of course you have a gasser, which they have been out of stock on the kits for an eternity. If you have yet to get better service, then apparently you've never heard of Ron's Heliproz, Readyheli, Modefos, Grand RC, or any number of other vendors who offer the same level of service AND have parts in stock and showing online.

you clearly missed my point...what part of "of course not all parts are in stock" did you miss? ALL predators use mostly the same parts...95% are the same. remember ive had 5 Predators...ALL of which i have NEVER had a delay on getting parts for.

The question is my friend, why buy a trex? why buy a raptor? why buy xcell? WHY BUY ANYTHING? I am only telling you what you must do if you want to fly and get parts for a heli that WONT explode in the air...no need to get so damn defensive.


Century has their own line of helis, rons, heliproz, MTA...do not. Century has a little more to do than the others, so the website is not kept up constantly, and as you hopefully read, i AGREE WITH YOU on this! It IS bs that the website isnt up, and they SHOULD fix it, why they arent...i have NO clue.

Why dont you tell me what parts you need for your gasser, ill see if i cant help you out some.

Im after the same thing you are my friend, but sometimes theres things we have to deal with to get what we want.

I own 3 Century helis, included a Predator Gasser, I live in Colombia South America, I´m agree with the problem in the web page... Unacceptable!! But I´ve called them(Saul) and always get everything I requested, some of the parts were out of stock and Saul did solve my situation.

My point is that Century MUST correct the web page, and post here to explain what is going on, but they always try to help, very friendly people.

fact is this happens to "all" brands at times !!!!!!!

I'm not going to bring up names or brands but I do know of Reps leaving big name brands for this very same thing !! I also know one of the biggest brands that has been in the hobby as long as any brand has had a big parts availability problem for years now,,

yes it's frustrating but it happens at times..

Hmmm, let's see:

We have very seldom ever had problems getting parts from Century for:

Swift 16
Swift CF550E
Swift CF620E
Hawk Pro
Raven 50 (and previously their Falcon 50 series)

That is probably because they are all made "in house"

Yes, on occasion, we have had some Predetor parts B/O'ed

That is probably because some of their parts are farmed out to sub-contractors.

As for the FunKey scale fuselages - again they are from another manufacturer. YOu will find the same thing will happen with Vario or Hirobo scale fuselages...once out of stock, the next production run by their suppliers may be months away.

Seems like some who love to "beak" Century, always bring up the Predator parts supply issue and choose to forget their great track record with all the other models they have produced for many years. Models that may account for the largest bulk of their sales.

So IMHO, as a purchaser from them, one can look at it like the glass is 90% full or 10% empty.

Of the brands we distributed and have distributed in Canada, I must publicaly say that the overall "order fill" from Century has been very good, one of the best we have had experience with.

So it irks me to see the Predator parts issue (which I understand should be solved shortly, as they transfer its' production to being all in-house over the next few months) and to shortages at times in Scale fuselages. (If Funkey do not have them, what is Century to do???)

I want to buy a Spartan Gyro and Multigov today. Can I get one if I wanted? No. Is it because of the lax attitude of the companies? No. Shortages happen to all companies, and I can guarantee you that they don't want it to happen.
