| I spent Hours setting up my flybarless model, assigning aux 1-4 to separate channels for governor, gyro, ele gain, ail gain.
I wanted to change the model name, and did so in the internal memory.
I did this, selected the model, cycled the radio power (old 9z habit) and went to fly.
I started the heli, placed it on the ground, gave it some throttle, and there was something wrong! The tail started to spin so I shut it down.
Upon inspection, the tail servo wasn't working. Damn, was it dead? Checked the cables, everything's ok. Go to servo monitor screen and flip the gyro mode switch.
Here we go- there's NOTHING on gain channel.
Go to Function menu.
WHAT DO YOU KNOW???? THe radio had reassigned my channels. ALL of the aux channels were remapped, so there was no gain to the tail gyro, the governor gain was set to 100 % (lucky I didn't engage the governor), and the flybarless gyro gains were mapped to unused channels.
WHY DID THIS HAPPEN?
I can tell you that I DID NOT DO IT.
Yes, it only took me a few minutes to fix, but this is a terrible demonstration of what could have turned into a complete disaster if I had been any more hasty than I was.
Any input or explanations???
