Flybarless Rotor Head Systems > V-bar, X2, and tail bounce...

So I am still having a tail bounce issue with my V-bar X2.

I have the sensor mounted using only one Futaba gyro pad in the normal location.

The tail seems to hold fine in long tail slides. It also stops very well under slower piros. However, if I go full left or right on the tail, it will bounce when I stop the rotation.

Any suggestions?

Lou

Lou,

I use the helicommand rigid, not the V-bar, but I think that there are a couple of things that might help regarding the slight bounce-back.

First, go to the tail gyro settings and see if you can increase the delay a bit (~10% less hard stop in my case). This fixed my problem.

Secondly, you might want to try smaller tail blades (95mm instead of 105mm). Since you are not fighting as much tail torque without a flybar, you should be able to get away with smaller tail blades. The torque compensation (like revo-mix, but done within the HC and V-bar systems) helps a bit as well.

Good luck sorting this out Mate.

Cheers,
TomC
