I dont know nothing about the 2.4 technology. i took a year off from Helis and came back 2 monthes ago and so many things have changed... so i already switched to Arizona and 8717's and the next step is 2.4. just wanted to know what i need to change my 9CHP and will it work good on it, bad points and good points of it and where can i order the things i need, links with pic's will be great. Thanks ahead.

You can switch to 2.4 with your 9CHP only at the price of the Futaba 7C I think your better just selling your 9CHP and buying a new TX. The latency on the 9CHP is really long and therefore this is one reason I think that your better off changing.

I wish I could fly 24/7

2.4 upgrade

I'm thinking of upgrading my 9CHP to 2.4, It look so EZ and simple.FUTABA give you new module and 8 channel RX. You just replace your old module w/new one and put new RX on your Heli.It is as EZ as 1 2 3 .Price is $300.00.
I have SPEKTRUM DX7 and I like it cos there is NO NEED TO WAIT for FREQUENCY & CHANNEL issue.

you will have some delays betwen the channels that moves the swash when you are using ccpm you can se it when you for example moves the ailernon stick will the swash plate move a little up and down

Unless you fly an eCCPM heli in quite hard 3D or precision flying the latency of the 9C may not be a problem at all for you. If you are accustomed to your 9C and didn't notice the latency issue before I'd say it is a non-issue for you so don't bother changing TX for that reason alone! For quite a few people the high latency of the 9C is only a problem because they know the TX has high latency between stick input and servo movement in eCCPM helis, for many types of flying and helis it is of no practical consequence at all!

For specifics on TX latency see the thread TX/RX eCCPM Latency Test Results.

I upgraded mine and it works great. However, I liked the freedom and connectedness of the FASST 2.4 gHz system enough that I upgraded to a 12Z with the 2.4 module a couple of months later.

IMHO, you may want to keep the 9C as it is and upgrade to the 12Z or 12FG when you are ready to upgrade. Of course, if you upgrade the 9C to FASST 2.4, the 12Z and 12FG will be able to control any receiver you buy to use with the upgraded 9C.

12Z Is a bit out of my budget so i think ill stick with the 9C. Thanks.

boomstriker, what helicopter do you have and do you know if it has eCCPM swash?

If you have a Raptor for example that is not eCCPM and this latency that people are talking about is a non issue.

If you decide to buy a module for your T9 and you do have an eCCPM setup then the latency being spoken of is a delay of 82.3 milliseconds before all three servos are on the move. If you think your flying style will be cramped by this then get the CSM Cyclock and you will not experience any delay between the servo actuations. The 82.3mS delay still exists but the Cyclock waits for all the data and then outputs the commands to the servos faster than any receiver can.

if you have had no problem with your stratus with latencys an interactions
so will you not have any problem using 2.4Ghz

OK. Thank you. iam also running 8717's on 8 Volts so i dont think that this latency will make such a diffrence

Guys, if anybody is looking for an affordable 2.4 8 channel combo, I have one for sale, it's brand new from XPS...

http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/...1/?p=3458724#RR

http://www.xtremepowersystems.net/p...prod=XPS-CPF1-8

I do not recommend it for the 9Z though, but it works perfectly with the 9C...

Thank you!
