From the beginning of their earlier lots, I changed to Hirobo rod ends which seem to be fitted well.
But later Compass changed theirs, and since then I changed back to Compass. No problem though.

The older ones, you can easily take it off the ball-links. But the new changed ones will fit tightly on the ball-link, and you may have to fly the heli a number of flights to mate it.

I think the new ones are too tight, and resize them with good results. However, the fact remains that ball links, no matter the manufacturer, need to be inspected frequently, and changed as necessary. Just my opinion.

i think they are the same part number. I never had any issues with the old ones tho.

the new ones do start tight. i find if you ream them then they will wear fast from there. If you leave them to bed in when you fly it, takes about 5 flights to free up nicely but they will last for donkeys.

links

Yes the new gen are a bit snug. The 3D kit comes wirth a sizer. The old pinch trick also worked fine on mine. 2 seasons on the sport and the links are all still good. I am very happy with the compass links.

rods are fine, thick enough to take the inflight loads, thin enough to bend in a crash, reducing damage to other components.
