that's a solid looking frame - they could do it in plastic like GRP and it would be great - nice and light

QofJ Japanese website updated their "upcoming new products" section on 8/20/08. This is what they are saying in Japanese about EP5. "QofJ is currently in a manufacturing phase of the EP5, and they'll probably finish the EP5 parts manufacturing by the end of August. They'll manufacture the body at the very end as the last piece of the parts. The customers are requesting QofJto start selling the EP5 as soon as possible (because many customers want to fly the EP5 during the Obon vacation), and QofJ is trying to accomodate their request, but they don't seem to be able to finish manufacturing the EP5 bodies. Many customers are requesting to release the EP5 even without the body in the kit, so QofJ is considering that option as well. The EP5 airframe fits the body of X400 or Trex 450."

By the way Japan is ahead in time than the US, so it's 8/20/08 now. They are 16 hours ahead or something like that.

It says the stock boom is too short to accept 325mm blades, but that can be done with the optional stretched boom. It takes Trex450's canopy. The standard blade without the stretch kit is 280mm, uses 800-1500mah lipo, 20A-30A amp. If you get the kit without motor/BEC, then it accepts Hacker 20A class or Trex450 class motor. The flight ready weight about 6500gram including the 3s1p lipo. They'll sell scale bodies down the road. It says it's designed after EP8. QofJ is bragging it flies quiet and hovers well. I want this.

In Japan it's priced 14800 yen without motor which is about 140 USD, 16800 yen with motor (1914-11T by QofJ), which is about 160 USD.
