I highly doubt it. He made an announcement about a week ago that he is shutting the business down.

Ahh, Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you on my own thread, but my home internet here will not allow me to open the Runryder page for some reason. I have to use a library computer just to check my mail and runryder. Anyways, I'm sad to here that about Dave's business. I was really looking forward to showing off his work on my heli.

As for me being here....well, I really don't have much to say except it's not all it was cracked up to be. It's really hot and it's confusing to get anywhere around here lol. I have gotten out to fly pretty much every weekend despite several typhoon warnings though. I thought there would be more heli pilots here..I've seen a few, but they are just getting into helis. I think I am the only 3D pilot here Hopefully not. I'll give it some time and see what comes up.

Kadena AB..... I was stationed over at Futenma just south of where you are at and one time up at Camp Hansen when I first joined. I remember there was a Heli shop down at the bottom of the hill by Futenma that had a vertol in the window, you can't miss it. I'm sure there are some guys there. I saw them all the time, however it's been a few years. If your coming from Kadena south towards Naha it's on your right side on the main road just before Futenma. I wish I could remember exactly what it was by for you. Good luck and enjoy Oki. It can be a great place if you get out and enjoy the diving. Okuma park up north is great. Sorry if it's a little off the subject, hope it gets you started over there. I remember what it was like.

Hi Shawgl,

I've found one hobby shoppe going right, past gate5 leaving from gate2. It's small, but the guy in there speaks fair english and is usually pretty helpful. I just wish I could get Wildcat or Coolpower here. I can't see my fuel level with this japanese stuff. It's only 25% and it's about $50 a gallon. I've have heard about the shoppe you are talking about, but I haven't had a chance to go and look for it. Your directions should help me find it faster though Don't worry about being off topic I got what I needed from the previous replies here. I'll take your advice and take up diving...I'm afraid of getting sucked out of into the ocean though.

WOW!!!! $50!!! I would have never thought it would be that high over there. I guess the COLA allowance is used for fuel now versus food and living.. There are some great diving spots, and your fear is real about getting sucked out, but it's not the out to the ocean you need to be carefull with. It's all the underwater caves that everyone wants to go in and then get themselves in trouble. We had two recon guys die in one when I was there. Sad days. On a lighter note. To solve your fuel level problem. I remember seeing the RC car dudes using a dye in their fuel to change the collor to "trick" their rides that much more. I'll see if I can find where I saw that for you. I miss Oki, HOT, HUMID, after PT you never stop sweating afterwards.... Wait.... Not so much.
