Anyone have any advice or if they would be so kind as to post there settings for their stock gyro. I have been tweaking and reading everywhere and I just cant get it to lock in. I have move the link down one hole and it let me move up the gain in the tx to 69-70 before wobbling, but even at that point it still drifts. While hovering I adjust trim on tx but it will just not lock in. Also the maual says to not use the gain on the gyro, has anyone used it as well as the gain on the DX6I?

Thanks in advance and by the way I am new here and to heli's and believ me you all have helped alot already!!

in stock form the gyro is set up for remote gain so turning the pot on the gyro does nothing. also if you move the ball on the tail servo you will need to readjust your push rod length accordingly and you probably won't get full travel. did you take the arm off or just move the ball? if you removed the arm it needs to be centered when it goes back on. also no need to trim in HH mode the gyro is suposed to be doing that for you

A "fixed wing" is just a seized rotor...

Hey, can you believe it?!?! Another duplicate post on the b400 tail?!?!? Who would have ever thought?!?!?!

Lots of people have tail problems with the b400. Check the existing posts or use the search first. I was thinking about copying and pasting the answers. Then I thought the world would be a better place without 10000000000000000 duplicate threads.

Darren,

Don't worry. Ask whatever you want and someone will answer it for you. The search engine is sometimes difficult to use. I like trying to answer questions; they give me practice and help me learn.

Is the stock Blade 400 gyro any good?, does it drift badly?

Works fine for learning basic flight. Add a good servo and it performs much better. Scrap both the gyro and stock servo and add a 401/9254 for top performance.

I'm glad there are duplicate post.. when I search for something, I like to pull up 5-10 threads about my question and read through and pick out a little from here, a little from there until I have my answer. One thread doesn't answer everyones question.

Darren , thanks for the dupe thread man anyways there is video on youtube that shows you how to setup your gyro with your tail better. He is setting up an upgraded gyro/tail servo but it all still applies to stock gyro/servo. Be sure to watch part 1 and 2.

stock gyro

Hey Darren, I just tried a new tail servo... futaba 3154... with the stock gyro cause i couldnt get tail to lock in also. I was dissapointed that with this combo i was also getting servo creep on the tail. I did some experimenting with gyrorates and have found a setting which holds very well with no apparent drift. With servos at 90 and tailslider centered i put gyro into rate mode at about 25% on the tx... when i moved the heli from side to side the tail would react as if it were in hh mode! So i kept bumping up the gain til it would no longer move aprox. 48% on tx. Dont worry that at this point tail wont move very much even with stick inputs.I then set it hh mode at about 75% ... toggled back and forth between rate and hh mode a few times and used some subtrim til it would stay. Now when i arm the heli i can toggle back and forth a few times between rate and hh and it seems to have eliminated any creep. Before this i would need to adjust subtrim every battery change or just disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. I spool it up while holding on to it and when i turn heli from side to side i get a pretty good holding torque that seems pretty equal on each side. If you do get some tail wag just lower your hh rate til it stops. Im going to use this for awhile then try it with the stock tail servo that i removed.
one more thing...if you connect your battery with tx throttle hold on it will still drift! Start with throttle hold off but make sure throttle stick is all the way down just for safetys sake!

Installed servos on my wallet so money flys out faster!

something that nobody mention yet is to check your belt for tension! that was my problem! loose belt! put some tension on it and problem solved!

1- take apart 2-repair damage 3-check everything 4-go fly and crash 5- repeat #1
