Whats the process for sanding and buffing out clear coat runs? 1500grit wet, 2000grit wet, then what? Thanks I really appreciate it.

I posted this in the off topics also because I had forgotten that we had a paint section

For runs though, depending on how big they are, you'll be there forever with 2000 grit although that is the safest way. I use P800 grit to sand out any runs and then reclear the canopy. If you dont want to reclear then just use progressively finer paper up to 2000 and then use the info in the orange peel topic. I follow Dave Yost's advice: I use Meguiars swirl remover, 3M Finesse it, and finish up with Meguiars Show Car Glaze (#7).

Thanks for the tips. If it was something as small as a canopy I would just re clear the whole thing. But its on my car I had a dent repaired and the shop left a little run in the clear down low. Its easier for me to fix it because I had to have my car back.
