| It most likely depends on the eng choice. The OS engines arent as tight as say a TT is so they run in much faster and easier. Also if you are already experienced with heli engines then you already have a very good idea what the initial needle settings should be, the ins. will also state that anyway. If you arent heli engine experienced and cant hover/fly yet then a bench run is a must as you will have enough to concentrate on without having to mess with breaking in the eng at hover to begin with. Im anal and always run my nib engines on a stand mostly because I run syn. fuels and dont want to chance a lean run. 3/4 tanks and an hr. later and its in the heli, no big deal.............this way my engines ALWAYS start immediatly with no wasted time on a beautiful day tinkering with needles, different strokes different folks I guess. Either way some time MUST be spent running in your new mill......... |
