Hey all,
I just picked up an h200 and I really like it. I am running the stock motor/esc, hs-45's stock battery, a 401/3154. Even without the flybar weights its very stable for its size and rolls and flips very quickly. I set it up as the book says so that at mid stick the swash is 7mm above the top of the frames and worked up from there to get 0* at mid stick. I will measure my links to the swash later tonight and post them as I know there were people asking.

It's a fun little heli. I have been setting mine up for five weeks or so now and had some crashes but lots of fun. Thanks for mentioning that 7mm measurement. I need to remember that.

Yea that 7mm is a really good starting point, I used that measurement and then worked up from there to get to the 0* pitch. I needed to cut down the shortest link a little more to get everything level at 7mm but that may of just been me. for its size its seems very solid in the wind.

Me too. When I bought the Gaui, I bought a set of Wodden blades, when I got them home, I found out the package was mis-labled and they are stock blades. Will it fly on the stock blades? lifting up the helicopter from the blade tips, they almost bend into a U shape.

3rd the carbons
wiz, I have beat mine around pretty well with the stock plastics, and from what I understand Nick Maxwell swears by them as they are very hard to break. I did just pick up a lightweight canopy and woodies so I will hopefully try those tomorrow weather permitting.

What's the largest carbon fiber tail blades anybody makes? They might work for main blades on the Gaui.

The woodies are really good, pretty strong but when you pile it in at 4K rpm, plastic or wood don't survive I haven't actually flown the cheese blades, sorry plastic

Does anybody know if all the woodies come with the plastic hubs now? I want to buy a set, but I don't know if it's a different part number for the "safe" woodies.

Unless you find someone with some really old stock(doubtful), you will get the new plastic enforced hubs.

The ones I have bought have always had the plastic hubs although i did see somebody the other week using woodies without the plastic hub.

UPDATE!:
I LOVE this machine. I just put 4 flights on it with woodies, and this machine just plain came alive. It rolls almost as fast as my 90 and seems to track very well. I'm a huge fan, and it appears at least one of my coworkers will be getting one any day now also.

Hey guys,
As promised here are my servo link lengths that got me to ~7mm from frame to swash. these measurements are TOTAL LENGTH from one end of the link to the end of the other.
Pitch servo(top in the left frame)- ~25mm
Aileron(bottom in right frame)- ~37mm
Elevator servo- ~33mm
Tail pushrod- I used 4mm ODx2.5mm ID carbon tube(midwest products #5721) cut down to a bit over 170mm in length and then just moved the servo mount until the arm was square as the manual suggested.
I hope this helps,

what is your maximum pitch range?
How much cyclic is it able to generate?
Might be hard to measure with those tiny blades, but am curious to know.

If you bling it, they will come :D

I'll check when I get a chance but to be honest, I set the pitch links so that the blades were at 0* at center, and left everything else (atv's etc) at 100% on a futaba 12z tx. Literally the only numerical value that I adjusted was the gyro gain and the rudder atv to get a reasonable piro rate.

I got the SD version. Should be here tomorrow. I dont have electronics yet for it, but those will be coming very soon.
Are there metal geared servos that are available for the 200?
Also, what exact size blades does it use? I couldnt ever find that info.
Just need gyro, servos, and batteries.

thanks

You may be able to use some mg servos, but the Hs-45s work like champs, I have to go check the blade length, but as far as I know no one else besides gaui makes blades in their length. (btw get the woodies)
