Ok, i should be getting a hummingbird in the next few days (can't wait), but i've got a few queries that i need answered.
I ve already got a v. good Nicd/Nimh charger but what settings should i use to charge the bird seed? What ampage, and what delta peak value?
Also I ve seen that people are using a Team Orion Elite micro modified motor in their hummingbirds. That particular motor is coreless, but can someone tell me the benifits of coreless motors? Also is the spec of the hummingbird electronics board up to running such a motor?
Any help answering my questions very much appreciated. Thanks

Initial charge on the battery would be best at 60ma for 12 - 14 hours to balance the pack. Then a slow discharge then a charge at .6A and fly it a few times and see how it behaves. After a few cycles, then up the charge a bit to .8A and see how it behaves. If it gets too warm (NiMH will get warm - it's normal) then decrease. If it is still good, then every few cycle increase a bit. I charge mine at 1A without a hitch.

Do a slow charge ever couple dozen flights to help balance the pack.

A coreless motor is more efficient. More power that you put in goes to the output.

I see some are using the stock Hummingboard with a coreless. A coreless will be more efficient with a higher frequency ESC though. Still I hear most are happy with it.

The alternative is the Hobby Lobby Simprop 6V 280BB motor. This is what I use and it works great.

Good luck!
