e-Gaui Hurricane 200 & 550 - EP100 > Hurricane 200 Best Battery that Fits

I've got my Gaui all put together. All I need now is a battery that fits up front. What is everyone using? I prefer EVO and Thunderpower for my Trex, but I don't know if they make something the right size.

I am using the Gaui 800 2 cell batteries as these are what came with the heli and they are fine.

My Gaui didn't come with any batteries. What specs are they, weight, size and C rating.

try the smc volts. 800 mah 7.4 volts 25c 2 cell lipo. Works well, perfect size. I'm getting about 7 min. flight time. Not a bad price

I'm using the 2s 850 Kong packs 12c and the DN 2s 850 15c. I use my old CX2 Eflite 800 packs for bench testing.

My Gaui packs just arrives, they are tiny. I'm going to have to replace those ends, I can't imagine they can handle must current for very long.
Trying to wire this thing is very frustrating. There's no place to hide any wires. I had the gyro directly below the main shaft, but then I read that the Gyro has to be at least 10cm away from the electric motor. And where I had it was about 1/2 a centimeter. So I'm going to have to jury rig something.

Monk, I really like that setup. I'm going to try it. I have to find that Trex part first though. I'm still flying my Trex and don't want to steal it from there. How rigid is the plate with the weight of the gyro so far out, it doesn't bounce like a diving board does it?

Very solid. That tray on the trex takes the weight of a battery so a light weight gyro isn't a problem at all.

Thanks Drunk Monk,

I borrowed a friend's battery tray while the new one is on order. I installed it and it works great. I couldn't tell from your pictures whether or not you had any stand-offs between the aluminum bracket and the side frame to keep from over tightening the frame. I contemplated slicing up the aluminium support, then I went looking through my parts drawer and found that Trex aluminum ball links are the perfect size. So I used 4 of them as spacers. I'll post a picture shortly.

Thanks again, great idea.

I didn't use any stand offs, just 4 bolts and alittle locktite but the ball link idea sounds like a cool idea

You must have the Logictech 2100. Several of us mounted ours directly under the main shaft about a half cm from the motor, and they've worked fine. I don't think there's enough current or vibration on this tiny heli to bother it.

depends on what your set up is. The Outrage 2s 800mah 25c is the most powerful right now.

I just saw that readyheli is selling a clear plastic battery tray for the Gaui 200. Its the same idea as using the Trex battery tray, just clear. I wonder how the weight compares to the carbon fiber, weight definitely has a big impact on this little heli.
