Miniature Aircraft Nitro/Gas Helicopters > Pro 2 linkage info

I bought a used Pro 2 with everything but the receiver. I also have most of the parts sheets but do not have a manual. If anybody has a manual or one scanned or knows where I can locate one it would be appreciatted.
What I need is the length of the four links to the bottom of the swash plate. The other linkage measurements would be a bonus.
I am a beginner with to many years on fixed wing and always wanted to fly a heli. I have a small electric and lots of practice on the sim.
Your help is appreciatted.

Thomas,
Thanks for trying to help. I have been over that site and down loaded quite a few things. The one sheet with linkages is for a different model. If I make them to those specs the swash bottoms out.
I will keep searching.
Thanks, John

sheet 3 on the pro II shows the swash position in relation to pitch using the swash antirotation bar. adjust the length until it matches and this should get you close. Hope this helps Tom

I asked about 2 weeks ago on Miniature Aircraft's forum for some info and never got a reply so far. Does anybody else have the same problem? It is frustrating when the manufacturer has a site and won't answer.
On a side note there is a gentlemen who I have not met gave me a YS 61ST2 which is brand new for my ProII. I am glad there are some people still in this hobby that go far above and beyond when helping other modelers. I appreciate it very much as I am the one that benefitted from it. He is also helping me on this subject as his cousin has the ProII and is sending me a copy of the building instructions. With his help I may not be asking that many questions as a beginner.
I am not completely new to Heli's as I spent my last 5 yrs. in the Cdn. Armed Forces as a observer navigator Recce flying in the right seat. I have time on the Hiller (Nomad CH112), Jet Ranger (Kiowa) and the Twin Huey. Although not a pilot I had to take the theory of how one works and although not pretty I could pick them up and put them down.
Thanks for letting me rant.

Contact Min Air direct

The tech support folks at MA have been extremely helpful. I have called several times to talk and ask questions about the Gas 1005 and have been helped each and every time.

Call them at 352-383-3201 tell them what you need help with and they will see if the person best able to help is available.

Also I have been able to get a lot of help from Ron Lund at Heli Proz south. They are at 800-321-9909 or 361-654-3040.

Hey Vulcan,
I have a used hatori 2pc muffler that would fit on your YS61 and some spare parts for that engine. If you want them you are welcome to them. You will love that pro2, it will fly awesome.

PM me if you want the muffler.

RE the linkages, here's what you need to do:

The two elevator rods effectively set the height of the swash on the mainshaft, so their length is critical. Set the length of those two rods so the swashplate, at full low collective, does not pull the washout base off of its pins. You'll want at least 3 or 4 mm of pin engaging the holes in the washout base for safety. The aileron control system is along for the ride and rocks to and fro passively as the swash rises and falls. Therefore, you first set the legnth of the two aileron rods up to the swashplate so the bellcranks are at 90 degrees with the collective is at midposition, and then adjust the two rods going to th aileron servo so it's sitting more or less vertical at that same collective position. When you're setting up the ele pushpull, ensure the two rods going to the servo are EXACTLY the same length to avoid binding in the system.

Make sense?

Charlie,
Thanks very much and I will let you know when it arrives.
I am also helping somebody on another site as he wants to build a heli tach. I made the pcb and populated it and also programed a microchip for him. He needs to buy a few things but should be all set. I like doing things for others also.
