looking to use as a 60 size scale mechanics set, question is jas anyone tried diffrent moter and esc for lipo batteries on this mechanics set, don't like the battery pack and requirement for the motor, I know that they have made improvements to the lipo cells, no info is given for any other moter other than the vario motor and esc set for the mechanics

any help ?

I suggest you look at converting the Skyfox or Extreme mech
to electric. East Coast Scale sells a conversion kit.

silent is based on sky fox

the silent is based on the sky fox mechanics base, 10:1 ratio and 1500mm rotor diameter, the motor and esc requires a 30 cell battery pack x 2, looks like litium cells, not shure could be nicads, just wondered if there were alternatives to the motor the have listed

and if anyone has tried them

lipo cells are so much lighter

want to put it in to a 60 size scale fuselage

did not want to engineer my own conversion

You don't have to engineer your own setup, just give Joe at ECSH a call and he should be able to set you up with something.

Get a SkyFox or Extreme.
Get the Electric motor mount from East Coast Scale.
Get a Actro 32-4 motor.
Get a Jazz ESC.
Put in a 10S Lipo battery.
Add the Vario scale body you like.

or call Joe and have him tell you the same thing.

main gear and pinion gear

for a 1600 rpm rotor head speed, what gear count for the main gear and what count for the pinion gear, looking at converting skyfox using actro32-4 motor with 10 cell pack, looking at 1500mm rotor diameter
