Hi...

I am running the sp version with the following setup:
Quick 990 kv motor
4s1p 4000mAh battery
60 A Dualsky ESC w. BEC
4 x Hitec HS 85 MG servos
Cheap Telebee RCE 500 gyro
The weight is 1525 g

I am currently running a 19 t pinion gear and have a 27 t counter gear to slow the tail down a bit.

I was recommended this setup earlier on, but feel that I am missing some power. I think the gearing is a bit too low and the motor isn't under any pressure at all.

What pinion gear would you recommend? I was thinking about 20 t pinion gear or perhaps 21, but will the head hold up? I believe that the tail will hold just fine with the 27 t counter gear.

What do you recommend? Is there any 400 mm CF blades out there that fits this bird?

keep her under 2300 rpm and you should be ok ... if you are using wood mains a little less rpm is advisable

make sure your rotor and tail are well balanced - use a 100th gramme scale to achieve this and balance all blades

going beyond 2300 on the v2 is courting disaster

Actualy , the v2 EP8 Sportsman can run up to 2500 RPM`s on the head speed. DO NOT go over 2500 RPM`s or you risk blowing the heli up, the 6mm main shaft will just fold over and BOOM!!!
