Could we replace the plastic tube with a bearing?

Shaft collar mod

This makes a TREMENDOUS difference. You don't even need a bearing then. The swash floats freely ABOUT the shaft! It's great!

shaft collar

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...threadid=108099

I am making perfect fit 3mm main shaft collars for hummingbirds and picolos, hornets etc.. Single set screw, much smaller than the 1/8 inch shaft collar people are recommending and certainly a much better fit. They work very well for me. I make them on my lathe.

It has a 3mm bore not 1/8"
It is made of 6061 -T6 aluminum, with a center bore of 3mm
I use a high quality hollow cup point set screw. Very light weight.

1/8 inch was too sloppy for me, so I decided I could do better.

I figured I'd bang out a bunch of em and see if anyone is interested. Believe me I don't make any money on em. But it is good practice on my lathe and I've got plenty of material around the shop.

If anyone is interested kdill@camera-shack.com or PM me
