Okay , I got it together and have a few flights in to start getting everything dialed in ..
Specs;
s9402 Futaba on cyclic(awsome servos)
gy401 and s9254 on tail
MAH 425mm main blades(the best)
Castlecreations Pheonix 80amp ESC
HK3026-1000kv Scorpion motor. 17tooth pinion(VERY powerful motor)
Flight-power EVO 25C 3300mah 3s1p x 2 in series.
The EP9 is very smooth flying with no vibrations.
Weighs in at 2217grams, a little heavy but the motor more than makes up for the extra weight.

I installed one of the HK3026-1000kv Scorpion motors on my EP9 with 6s1p 3300mah 25C batteries and man these Scorpion motors are very powerful motors. I got my pitch set up for 12 degrees pos and neg and I am just using a throttle curve(no gov) and this thing just will not bog!!
The EP9 pretty much flies like the EP8EX .
The only thing I don`t like about it is there is less room in the frames between the gear and the lower rails, so it will be hard to do the open up the frame for battery mod...
I am just using some MAH 425mm blades on it and it does realy well.

Went out and flew a few sets of batteries(6s1p 3300mah 25C) thru the EP9 today. This heli flies realy good. I have always been afraid to do auto-rotates on my EP8`s so I was doublely scared to do it on my EP9... The fear was for naught, the EP9 autos very well, it just floats down and has plenty of control , very controled and smooth soft landing.. The blades turn as if there was only the one gear and not two. Very impressive heli. Quick of Japan did a very good job on the two gear driven tail set-up..
Right now I am trying to do the battery open up the front of the frames mod to get more room ..
I give the EP9 a thumbs up , great heli.
Call Harold at www.helicopterhobbies.com and get you one . He has some good deals on them right now...

If you build the EP9 make sure you put the servos in the frames first, before you assemble the frames , from the inside , not from the outside. The pics above show the servos on the outside of the frames , they need to be on the inside. I have changed them around and will post pics later...

Okay , I had some Heli-Max 440mm blades laying around so I put them on the EP9 and man what a difference they make ... This is an awsome flying heli ; with the 425mm blades it flew real heavy , but with the 440mm`s it flies as well as my EP8 EX. It does autos realy realy good, it just floats down easy...
It started raining so I was only able to get a couple of batteries through it, can`t wait to fly it again...

Cool, sounds good.
With the extra weight of the EP9, any increase in rotor span will decrease disc loading, which should for sure make it nicer to fly.
get cracking buddy, we need to hear the results of this
