| take your engine out and wiggle the bell back and forth and left and right you will then know what i mean by slop. The stck bearings are quite soft and tend to waer out quickly ive gone through two sets already. I think its because the whole assmebaly is held in place by one grub screw.

Is it possible that the slop is intentional and necessary? What happens when the motor is spinning? The clutch opens up and grips that bell tightly. Regardless of how tight the little clutch bearings are, the clutch/motor with its big bearings is going to spin that bell where it wants to, not where the clutch bell's little bearings think they SHOULD go.
The slop most likely allows the motor to spin the clutch/bell unit without risk of binding if the clutch itself is slightly misaligned. I think the slop is a good thing. |
