Has anyone installed the new torque tube on the 200?

I started the conversion today but my motor shaft is too short for the new pinion???

Anyone else had this problem or is the manual wrong?

I did one for a friend and it worked ok for about a minute during a test flight till the tail caught the floor and striped the tail gears. I would recommend raising the tail up slightly for more clearance for the tail blades.

Are you sure you have put the pinion on the right way up?

Motor shaft for the belt version is shorter than the motor that comes with SD version. However, I believe two pinions are sandwiched together for the shorter motor shaft as the SD version is able to take individual main pinion and crown pinion for different ratios.

It is a press fit install so I think it will be fine but maybe not. Either case, you will have to test it before having to invest in a longer shafted motor (if it does not work). Please let me know so I can provide feeback to Gaui.

We didn't want to modify the good working H200 so we got the H200sd version to test the durability of the tail and the effectiveness.
I am still putting it together so don't have any answers on that yet.

Thats probably the first thing to break in a crash. I'll stick with the belt. Belts are cheap, tt's are not. IMO.....

I just checked back with my other belt driven one (received later). It has the same motor but with a longer shaft.

I think pavement or landing pad taking off and landing would be a good idea for the SD version.

I just bought the sd version 200 a couple of weeks ago and I am just now getting around to enjoying it. It was a real beeotch to get the gyro setup, Logictech go figure. I have had two crashes and 1 really close call. The gears have held up well. The first crash I flew the thing into the side of my house. Main shaft, spindle, 1 main grip, 1 flybar mixing arm and 1 tail shaft have all seen better days, the gears, boom, shaft are still fine. The other crash I got to close to a trash can with the tail. I cringed cause I knew that would be the gears for sure. Not so. The plastic bell crank for the pitch slider snapped and the ends of the tail blades were scuffed up but the gears are still good. Today for some reason I landed in the grass as soon as I did I heard the blades cutting the grass. Hit throttle hold and ran over expecting the worst only thing was one of the little links that connect the pitch slider to the tail blade grips had popped off. Snapped it back on and took off again, from the concrete though. I know the gears can be shredded without to much effort but they aren't the eggshells they are made out to be.
