The plastic fan dialed in around .003-.004" at first. A few turns on the fan and I was under .002" (the recommended limit). While installing the plastic fan, I tightened the nut too much and ended up pressing the small collet a bit too far into the hub. This caused some runout problems when I put the aluminum fan on because the nut was contacting the fan hub and causing it to go out of round as I tightened the nut down. I solved this by putting a glow plug washer between the nut and the small collet. This gave the needed clearance for the nut to clear the hub. Once I did that, it dialed in at about .002" instantly. I was able to get it to about .001" of total runout.

Check to make sure that the nut on the crankshaft isn't touching the fan hub when you tighten it down. If it is, just use a glow plug washer (or similar) between the nut and the small collet.
