when hooking up a 2in1 regulator to a 6v lipo, does it matter where you place the stepdown? on my trex with a 401/9254 combo i put the stepdown at the receiver/gyro lead connection. Does the gain lead supply 6v all the way to the servo, or does it stay in the gyro, back to the receiver? Im trying to hook up 6v system to another heli and i think i need to ask this question. I have ran it hooked up this way for 6 or 7 months now in the trex, no problems, but i read a bit ago that your not supposed to run like this, what do you think.

With the 401 on the rudder lead from Rx to gyro is fine as the gain is only a signal wire and provides no power. With the 611 the strepdown goes between gyro and servo as the gain AND rudder leads both carry power.

yea, baddraptor, thats what i was thinking. i read on here that if you didnt put the stepdown between the gyro/servo connection, you would get 6v thru the gain plug. that may be the case for the 611, but not the 401. so using the 401, it's safe to put the stepdown at the receiver. thanks for the input

The 401 can run on 6 volts only the servo is recomened not to run on 6 volts. have mine between the gyro and servo. You could get a 6 volt servo and remove the step down.
