Thats about right! I had guessed pricing would be in the $1700-1800. I doubt it will be less than that.

Given all the blue Al Hirobo parts and the apparent status as 3D flagship 1700-1900 does not seem too far out. The Eagle WC-II wasn't so inexpensive either. I thinks the pricing level of the standard kits seen today on the flightline have conditioned us to expect a 700-900 dollar priceline. This isn't the typical entry to mid-level kit. Your gonna pay as a matter of volume and shiny tidbits that contribute to the final version. Unfortunately.
Hirobo has followed up key designs with lower cost plastic versions while retaining the engineering advances of the parent design. I expect the same.

More like 1500-1600 like the Minairs.
You got that pricing off MA's website. Those are suggested retail prices.

My BW Stratus was $1150 directly through MA.

If Hirobo hits the street with a $1500+ heli, they won't sell enough to justify it. Look at every high end 90 and what the price point is.

T700 $785 (next month)
Raptor 90SE $899
Syn N9 $980
Aurora $985
Vibe 90 $1098
Stratus $1140
BW Stratus $1180
Avro $1499

Notice with the above list that everything is selling with the exception of the Avro. The Avro is a very nice bird but with so many other choices out there that are $400-$500 cheaper, why would you buy it?

Hirobo in my opinion has lost way to much market share. If they wan't to get back in the game, they need to be under $1500! Sure if they come in over $1500 die hard fans will buy it, however they will not be a major competitor in my opinion.

I would still pay $1700-1800. In the end its a Hirobo.

In sales volume, no . . . in performance, definitely!

Remember, it's typically good, fast, cheap - pick any two you like . . . you never get everything! Based on the Eagle-3 line, I doubt this will be cheap - it's not intended to be a mass market model, unless I missed something. I think the mass market will be these parts redone in plastic and reintroduced as yet another rev. to the Freya line. It would be nice if I am wrong, but I'm not holding my breath on it . . .

Hirobo will also be releasing a new freya opII with the new rotor head, new tail set up and ccpm. Plastic frames. Same set up Dominik used for 2007 3d masters. Part # is 0414-928. here is the link for the pdf file http://model.hirobo.co.jp/03-img/04..._op2/lineup.pdf

I will take a guess that price on that one will be around $1200-1300.

I just dont see the point of a top level 3d Heli from hirobo based on the F3C philosophy at this price point. For the likes of those that fly really well and don't crash a lot or those that are sponsored then this will be a great machine. I have and love my Hirobo's. Most excellent quality certainly better than my TREX gear. But hey....I want a 90 that I can crash and not break the bank fixing it or be scared of flying it. Like the 90% of flyers out there I can't find enough time to put enough fuel through to make myself good enough to warrant one of these even though i have no doubt about it's pedegree.

So I will be getting a trex700N when they are out so I can fly it like I stole it. Even at $1500 it's too steep for me to justify it over an $800 heli that may fly just as well as the hirobo in my hands.

This is only for 3D mind you. For scale and F3C type flying I'll keep my sceadu and my x-spec. Much more stable and nicer to fly.

Good on Hirobo for trying to get back into the 3D market and the chopped down version like they did with the freya evo may tempt buyers but this one may be as ghostrider put it....

One thing I really liked was that FINALLY Hirobo listened to us and got rid of that awful awful clutch that they have persisted with....ya know.....all you Hirobo flyers are no doubt nodding....the ones you have to DTI which takes ages to get right.
Now they have a SS that drops into the clutch....wonder if it will fit my Freya????

BTW.. the T700 isn't $899... MSRP is $789. The Hirobo is a really nice machine and I would love to have one...but if it is around the 2 grand mark like everyone is speculating. I will not be able to buy one.

700N, EVO 50, Caliber 5, Beam 450, and comming soon TREX 9000 :)

What's different about the tail setup of the Freya OptII? I don't read japanese very well.

The freya opII will have the beefier tail blade grips and 5mm shaft from the turbulence

The tail parts are the upgraded D3 parts-bigger hub, etc. The English flyer for the D3 posted in the other thread details the tail stuff.

I think it is aimed at Airline Pilots

That would sure save time & hassle for those of us who don't have an engineering workshop in our own back yard... Not that I will retro all of my machines though...

According to the Swedish importer of Hirobo the msrp is 14995kr = $2500 (With current exchange rate), but they will sell it for 12990kr = $2165

Anyway, this includes 25% sales tax. So remove 25% and that will bring the price to around $1625 + whatever tax the country has. I am almost positive that the price will be lower in the US, since they probably sell more helicopters here than in Sweden

It is difficult to compare prices between countries, but this might be an indicator.

A bit pricey for my taste...

LOL....good on ya. You are obviously more patient and less fussy than me. I couldn't stand anything other than true yet I often had to settle for 1/2 a thou to 1 thou and it took ages to get there.

Just saying the new system is way better.

Nice heli, way to much money for something that will eventually hit the ground hard. I like my Hirobo machines, but I think if they want to compete with the USA market the price has to be better. Sure Hirobo quality is nice. Im almost afraid to fly my Evo EX!!! I dont want to crash it. So its barely fun flying it.

Good luck.
