e-E-Sky Honey Bee- Lama- Belt CP- E-Smart > Which TX are you using

Hi guys,

I'm trying to help a friend set up is honey bee k2, which he crashed, but can't get the servos exactly at 90 degrees, therefore the swash plate does not move truly straight up and down the main shaft. He is using the stock tx that comes with the heli. My question is: is their a way to set sub-trim to fix this or would it be better to change tx?
Thanks

I don't know about the RX.

Just a thought:

Can you adjust the link lengths?

I have already adjusted the links length but when the servo horns are not all exactly 90 degrees then the swash plate can not move at exactly the same speed. The swash plate is level at mid stick.

The thread title doesn't match the question.

The stock Tx won't allow sub-trims on servos. Set mid stick to center. If the servo horns aren't at the center, unscrew the horn and try the next spline. If its closer to center, then where you started keep it. If not put it back. You can also try you luck with different servo horns, if you have any spares to play with.

Then adjust the swash so it close to level. Hover and adjust the links for close to hands off hovering.

Other things to note:
Always use the same servos for all 3 swash servers
Always use the same type of servo arm(horn) and same hole for all 3 swash servos

Gregor99 you are right my thread title is not quite correct. I have been flying for 1 year now and know how to set up with a good TX and was wondering if most people use the TX that comes with the heli or is most people change them.
Tryan02 thanks for the advise I never needed to do this because I use a programmable TX. I will surely try this method.

Also to be correct with my thread title, do you guys use the TX that comes with the heli?

hell no!

Bought the futaba 6EX cause its good and cheap and does everything I need. I only use five channels anyway. A lot of us are EX-BCP owners and bought the barebones kit to use with our radios we previously purchased. Its about a 50/50 mix Futaba 6EX/DX6 or DX7.

Nice one, great idea.

I bought a bare bone kit and added my own electronics. I run a Spektrum DX7. Other have had success with the DX6i, but avoid the DX6. Also from the Futaba camp, the 6EX is quite popular.
