What exactly do you have to cut? Is it on the servo? It sounds like you are talking about the futaba 9650, but it clearly says the 3400 so maybe I am missing something.

Tony,

with the 3400, you don't need to cut it. Just mount one side and then there will be a gap in between the servo and the CF. Just use the screws to mount it in between this gap and it stays secure with the plastic that secures the screws. No mods needed.

It's really secure. I have been flying mine since December, pretty hard and have only installed it once. I haven't mucked with it since!.
