Align T-REX 600N 700N > T-REX 600N PRO building tips

Alright everyone, I’m finally close to owning a REX600N PRO. Close as in possibly by the end of this week. I could sit here and stare at the manual all day, but I’m not going to get any real tips on building this thing so I’m turning for your advise. I’ve been surfing the threads and run more into problems that everyone is having and not so much the building process. I’ve never owned a Rex before so I’m not familiar with the mechanics nor have I really messed with eCCPM to the point to where I’m comfortable with it so I’m not going to narrow my question to anything in particular because everything will be new to me. This is my first kit per say but I have experience with building and repairing both electric and nitro ARFs. What I’ve learned in the past is that majority of the manuals never cover or reveal any of the secrets so I’m sure I’m going to get an earful with this particular model. Having said all that, I would appreciate everyone’s inputs and I’m sure I’ll have more questions that follow.

Thanks in advance

Put it together according to the manual. It may be helpful to put your servos in before assembling the to frames half together( this will require forethought as to wire placement, it makes it easier to attach the wires to the frame).
Make sure you balance and dial indicate the fan and clutch hub assembly.
If you going to put in a gov, glue the magnets in the fan before balancing.
Make sure TT bearing is plasced 5-7CM forward of center.

Other than that enjoy the build.

Yes on gov. GV-1... thanks for this tip. I'm also going to start with a very tame setup and progress as I get more comfortable with the machine. Not sure of recommended RPMs per mode to accomplish this. I will make an effort to browse the forums to avoid repeated questions so bare with me if you guys find some of this repetative.

One more thing, before you tighten the frames halves together. Slide the main shaft in the bearing mounts. True and square the frame and then tighten all frame scews down. Then make sure the mainshaft slides in and out smoothly.

Put the fuel tank in place before bolting the two frames together. Make sure the nut is tight on the fan hub and I have found the hub can come loose very easily.

You may have to dremel out a notch on the bottom base plate if you're using an MP5 pipe. But thanks to Align they released a pipe that doesn't require you to do that.

This is awesome guys. Good info… some of which the manual fails to point out. I'm noting all this in order as you guys point them out so I don't miss anything.

I'll be using Century Silent power. Hope this fits without modifying too much. If not, I might have to look into that pipe you mentioned.

Its very straight forward I didnt find anything out of the ordinary in the build. When you mount your Gov. sensor to the bracket make sure its to the tail side for better alignment, this is from Bobs 600N build video on Helifreak, worked perfectly for me. Also make sure you get the Carbon Fiber front gyro mount it incorperates the front cyclic servos and realy stiffens them up. If your using a header tank its a good idea to mount it before installing the main gears. eCCPM is simple, use the default CP percentage settings, and start with the pitch, all the servos should travel in the same direction up or down, at this piont direction doesn't matter, if a servo is in the wrong direction, reverse it. Once you have all the servos moving in the same direction you will no longer need to reverse any servos, everything else will be done by changing the positive or negative value of the CP setting. If you move the pitch up and the servos are pulling down, simply go into the SWASH AFR or CP setting and change the value from + to -, or - to + that will change the direction of all three servos, in forward the Ail. and Pitch servos will push up and the Ele. servo will pull down, for right and left, the Ail. and Pitch servos will angle the swash to the right or left and the Ele. servo will remain still. From this piont the percentages will control the cyclic responce and your pitch, easy

Excited 4 arrival

Good news guys! My wife was feeling generous today because of a special happening at one of the Cali companies in which I just finished placing my order. I can’t specify any names but lets just say that I got an excellent price for it after the limited time discount. Man!! I’m so hyped. I feel like a kid all over again just before Christmas eve. Can’t wait for it to arrive in my front door. I ordered the version that comes with a red canopy. So Pimp!! I'm drooling now.

One way bearing?

This topic has been thrown around several times and I’m wondering if its something I should be concerned about from a newer version and or if there is an alternative replacement.

Use the stock one-way and keep it well lubricated with tri-flow. Drip a few drops before every outing and you will be good to go.

HF=HeliFreak. "Finless" Bob does build and setup videos for many different types of helis and such. Very good stuff there. I would watch them. They've helped me and I don't even have the 600N.

Hey guy, I just got done building the 600 super pro. this is the best kit that I have put together. last year I built the 600n when it first came out. and the machining of the parts on the new kit are a lot nicer. Every thing fits like a glove. I only had one problem and that was with the gear box for the tail. they made the hex blocks that the screws go into a little short. just had to center them so the screws would catch on both sides.

only advice I can offer is take you time and use your locktite.

have fun

Super Pro? Nice!!! Did you use any special lubes that the manual doesn't state already?

I put some Moly grease on the feathering shaft and on the rubber around the torque tub bearing so it would slid into the tail boom better.

My tip: build per manual but before you install the head and engine install all of the electronics. It is much easier to run wires.
