HBK2
IdleUp Curve flat line 100-100-100
Pitch -9 0 +9
12T pinion

If I do a full power decent from 20-25ft when I give full collective / throttle to arrest the decent the stop is, for want of a better word, "soggy". The heli slows and at risk of bouncing on the ground. The stop is not "crisp". I can also detect a slight motor note change (lower) as the heli slows and stops.

If however, I start higher up say 50ft motor note changes (higher) during the decent and the stop is now crisp and the heli stops on a dime.

My guess is that I am getting higher head speed when starting from higher up, my question is, what can I do to get a crisper response from the lower altitude, I am already 100-100-100 in idle up.

Thanks

I can only get another 1 degree on pos and neg. I had +/- 10 but knocked a degree off because I was getting a 90deg nose left tail kick during full power climb out. It sounds now as though the motor is bogging down as it is, wouldn't more pitch make it worse?

Sounds like a pretty solid setup for a HBK2. I wonder if you have found the limits of the heli with this setup.

The only thing I can think of that might help is a better motor and better blades. There are few guys that have run the JGF motors in the HBK2. But it would be an expensnive experiment. On the blade comment, I recall Chris commenting that his stops-from-drops were far more crisp when he went to the cut-down Align wood blades. Might be worth a try, and much cheaper than the motor replacement.

I'm not yet a good pilot or anything. My king came with 3900 Esky with 11T and a JGF 450 with 11T also. I tried both motor Esky one just can't handle the 11T!

When I do climb out from 75% to 100% you can hear the motor bog a little and RPM just kinda winds up with Esky. JGF on other hand dont' produce any kind of bog or get to full RPM real FAST! Especially with 25C batteries.
