this may seem stupid (and it probably is, but i'm tired so at the moment it seems like a good question)...

How can a 6S 5000mAh lipo with a 25C con. and 50C burst rating (125 Amp and 250 Amp) run on an Align RCE-Bl75G ESC without burning it out?

From my understanding, the ESC is rated at 75amps... so how can it handle 125 amps con. and 250 amps burst? I know that the li-po hardly ever puts out as much amperage as it is rated but i would think that it would still put out more than 75amps.

I know it works cuz its the setup that I've seen a lot of people use.

The 25C is what the battery is capable of supplying if required.
Not important if your motor is only "asking" for 50Amps (or 10C on a 5000mA pack).

Your 75A esc is again capable of controlling/supplying up to 75A through it. But your motor needs to "ask" for it first. Basic sport flying will only pull 20-50 amps. When 3D flying, the motor will pull more than that as they are pushing the blades harder.

I hope that helps. I don't fly 3D but use the Trex-600 for photography work. I rarely hit 50Amps draw and have over 200 flights across two 75A-esc's.
