You are funny, I don't think people will buy heli because of how the paint look on the canopy(maybe some). And the sales of 700N is still strong.

I've been surprised to see 700's in stock at many hobby shops and online. I know I won't buy a helicopter unless it looks good and I can get a custom or nice pre-painted canopy.

Well at this point both Canomod and Insane Canopies has custom pre-painted canopies for us 700N owners.

I remember a time when you had not only paint your canopy but you also had to trim the two halfs and glue them together...at the same time there was also no such thing ready to fly blades...oh the memories of sanding, sanding, sanding some more...drill some holes for the lead weights..fill the gap...sand some more..then static balance..then cg balance...then cover the blades...and balance again hoping all along you didn't screw it up beyond repair.

oh how we are spoiled nowadays with everything nearly ready to fly...not much room left for personal craftsmanship these days. what was the first thing I bought for my 700 as soon as I found one available?..a BLANK CANOPY! I miss painting my own and it will give me something to do soon on a windy, rainy day to pass the time.

I still don't see any different canopy shapes out there...

However, here's an inexpensive painted canopy from HeliDirect so we can at least get some variety out there!!!











I just wish the windshield did not go so far down towards the nose.

And I wish the bottom blue and yellow was more of the orange from above the black. I think it would look more natural to keep the same pattern above and below the black.

The top of the canopy looks very sharp, the bottom looks kinda plain.

Now that's a nice improvement!

Just extend the nose out about 1 inch and make it sharper and I think we're there!

I'm glad you like, where do I send the design bill LOL

The funny thing is, I could make the master mould for that canopy standing on my head. I do that sort of thing all day long for my 9-5 day job. I'm a pro model maker for a model car company! I made these trains in the same way as the canopys would be made.

Nice an easy engine adjustments with that, and the other side would cover the exhaust manifold and require cutting.

Make the nose longer by all means, but leave the sides alone!
