Alright all this talk has made me realize perhapse I should mock something up in Solidworks and/or Maya. If we want a change, perhapse we should work towards it. I'll try a mockup tonight and post of how I view a bad ass canopy on a bad ass heli should look like.

And I have to agree with Rock, I saw the canopy at SD funfly. It's neither unique nor does it stand out in any way. Even a Logo canopy stands out and is at least unique. Well least for those of you who like the ugly Logo canopy

Here's some pictures of the T700 next to the Aurora.
rccaw, thanks for those great photos. Now everyone knows I'm not an Aurora fan either but that pic reminds me of the very hot sister (Aurora) sitting next to the very unattractive sister (trex). No comparison in my opinion.

do it yourselfcanopy made easy.. i can teach you :-)
It may already be to late to change the canopy if production has started. Never mind Align will prob produce a "new upgrade" canopy to boost their sales of parts.
I agree the latest design does need improving on, it should look and fly great. Personally i am a flyer and i would like to see a trex 600 plastic type of material with vinals as an option. That's one less cost i have to think about in crash.

I agree that a good well thought out paint job can visually change the shape of the canopy
My Avro which looks (to me) like the front of a tug boat
And a good well thought out paint job

With the Aurora and the 700N next to eachother, the 700N just looks better in my opinion. More in for business and less into bling.
700N FTW.

Can anybody tell how to upload pics like Rockoholic did with the other 2 pictures? I'm just starting to familiarize myself in uploading photos.

just put img]... [/img] tags(you can hit the IMG button above your post reply and it will automatically do it for you) around the picture code in your post and it will make them fullsize and not thumbnails.
This might be off topic but after speaking with Lukas Riva at the 3Dx in Spain about his 700N having a central fuel nipple instead of one on the right side (they were having some fuel delivery problems near empty tank, thats why they moved the nipple) I find myself now looking at the aurora pics and seeing the nipple on the right side too... how in earth will the clunk reach all corners in that configuration?

I think I will spend my time on less trivial matters like a plea for world peace. The canopy is fine by me, I shall enjoy the 700, enjoy flying it and not waste time on this thread (though I am a hypocrit because here I am...)

rccaw,
I think the shot of the Trex700 is a good shot of the head - not the canopy!

Rock, My bad, I kind of went off topic and just blurt out the head shots for comparison on both machines, not realizing at the time that the discussion was still on the canopy. I'll try to pay attention next time.
The old age is starting to take it's toll sorry for my senior moment.
