Seing these two side by side, I think the main problem I have is that it's just to small. The shape is ok (could be better) but if it was bigger, I could live with it.

In response to louk05 only. I am cracking myself up here.

And ghost instead of saying its ugly why don't you come up with a solution to it instead of saying its ugly.

Uh, isn't that what we are discussing here?

Quote
Do you even own one??

No, it's ugly!

Quote
have you flown one??

Yes, fly's great but I wouldn't own one becuase it's ugly!

Quote
have you really looked at it???

Yes, I think it's ugly!

Other than that naked its a sexy bird

Yes

I do. I was simply saying its not ugly and a lot of others don't think so either. He dose not even own one and looking off pics is really hard to go by. Thats all. I am sure there is always room for improvement as I said. I would like to see a bit bigger and more of a point that the stub nose. Thats all. He is just mad because he has never really seen one and or flown one and only wishes to. This heli is a great heli. Looks good and flies unreal. And yes we can improve the heli by its canopy only. I am going to make my own to see what I can come up with just for fun. But its not by far the ugliest kid on the block. There are a lot and I mean a lot uglier out there. I am sure in time there will be some one who makes a new desighn and sells it. Its a new heli still so give it time it will come. But its not going to make it fly and better so whats the point?? Just paint the stock one. We have seen a little paint can do wonders.

Where do you get this sh!t? Did you not read my post above? I tried to spell it out for you as clear as I could.

Let me try again.

I think Align has the BEST bang for the buck 90 size heli currently on the market. If there was consumer reports for heli's, Align would probably get the highest marks simply because of value.

For me personally, value is not my highest priority. For me, in this 90 size class, I wan't what I want almost regardless of the price or cost of ownership. To me, a 90 size heli is my pride and joy so I will buy whatever I feel will fit the bill. The only problem I have with the 700 is simply the fact that I don't like how it looks. That's it!

And to answer your question once again, I did have the pleasure of flying a 700 through two complete tanks of nitro. It fly's very well.

I guess what I am saying here is that everybody's idea of the perfect heli is going to be different. If the 700 fits the bill for you, by all means enjoy the ride. Remember, this is a hobby and should be fun for you and only you. Who cares what I think or anybody else thinks for that matter.

Ghost - you're cracking me up dude!

I just got back from flying my UGLY 700N...

Woo Hooooooo I was having a great time!

I'll post pics later on my fix to the tail. Was holding like a vice!

And I put a header tank on it - what a huge improvement! In retrospect, I think it's the only day at the field when I haven't run out of fuel in flight!

I even put the fuel line for the main tank on the OUTSIDE hole. My line was cut when on the inside hole with the YS 91 so close.

Anyway, I was of course concerned about the fact that the clunk (OS bubbless) does not come close to the left side of the tank now. I tried different orientations in flight and inverted flight to see what would happen, and every time I checked the fuel, the header was completely full and it worked like a champ!

My run time increased significantly since I can now completely drain the main tank, it never leaned in flight when near empty, and my confidence in it is much higher!

Woo Hoooooooooooooooo!!!

I got a helicopter for my girlfriend,
It was a good trade!

I tried one of those and I did not think it worked very well. I switched to the fuel magnet and never looked back.

Agree

Yes very well put Ghost. I agree with you. I in fact am going to get a Aurora now. They are suppose to have fixed all the problems and that is what is taking so long. I got word the other day mine will be in in about a week. If I don't like it I will sell it. Its that easy. Yes I agree. The canopy can be a bit bigger. If it was it would look a lot better. I have to say the best looking helis are the N9 by far and the Aurora. Then I would say the 700. Cost of ownership and cost of flying dose not matter to me either. That is why I am going to get the Avant just to try it out. If I like it ill keep it and if not ill just sell it. Hopefully all the parts are fixed and I will not have any troubles with the kit.
I was told that is why they have not been back in stock yet is due to there fixing every problem that was wrong with it and now they are about all done and I have one on order. All back orders have been filled. So with that said I agree with you and you are right. It dose need to be bigger. Even though it dose look good. It grows on you. I really did not like the way it looked until I got mine back in late June. I had one of the 1st kits. And after flying it it grew on me. Its pretty good looking in the air but that is where I would like it to be bigger. For visual affects. Any ways. Agree and thats why I say lets see what we can do with this thing. I am going to work on one this weekend and see what I can come up with.

Whlie I like the paint scheme, that windshield absolutely kills the canopy for me. But that's just my opinion.

Let your flying do the talking - don't talk about your flying

I completely agree!

I even emailed helidirect and commented on the windshield.

I hope they change it!

OMG just when you thought we were saved from the ugly canopy madness!.... Thats a great price for that canopy but whats up with that windshield!?!? I would like to see what it looks like with the stick windshield shape, i bet it would look better. Riva's canopy looks pretty good. Why dont you just put the 600N canopy on, arent they the same size anyways? -Hey Align....just make the 600N canopy a little bit bigger and there ya go! That new pointy canopy from Fusuno looks like a missile, better hope it doesnt get picked up by some military radar!

I'll pass on the canopy express but will derail it for a sec . Heres a pic from my 30 raptor back in 2001 when everyone had the same ole blah looking canopy . So I decided to change that with my own design on a different mold . Basic three color fade , nothing fancy but beat the stock canopy . It sure got everyones attention at the field and looked killer in the air . I will be looking to do the same with the 700 in the future .

raptorheli,

Is the "new" canopy you posted above an Align product or an aftermarket one?

It's aftermarket. You can see where it says "Insane Canopy"

They both say Insane Canopy. As far as I know Insane is a painter and he does not make different canopy shapes. I have an Insane Canopy for my Vibe and it looks like the stock JR canopy. The bottom one looks longer but it could just be paint scheme.
