what head bearing mod you are talking about

The bearing that goes through the headblock to the seesaw. The originals had one flanged on the inside, the upgrade has another on the outside.

....that's what I'm talkin' about!

With +-7 on cyclic the N9 is not going to be blazing fast but it will track better than your other machine. The bell/hiller ratio and size/weight of the flybar system make each brand machine fly differently.

head bearing mod

The head now comes with two bearings to support each side of the seesaw. One flanged bearing mounted from the inside and a regular bearing on top of first. See here.

Could I purchase the needed parts from Synergy Rc and do the mod myself? Or do I have to get the parts from other sources?

You can try Rick's or Tammies to see if they have an upgrade kit. Or you can do the upgrade yourself. The bearing is a non-flanged 4x8x3mm. With the spacer, 4x6x1.5mm, you can use the larger 10mm screw. Use red locktite to secure each bearing, inner first then outer, and also use red on the screws.

I don't have a list of step by step instructions but if this info doesn't fully help let me know.

Carcrasher,

How much does the Aurora weigh? That seems to be the question no one wants to answer. Leads me to believe it's a little on the porky side.

Here is the link to the dual bearing mod. It lists the parts needed and how to install.

I can't remember. I weighted mine a long time ago when I first put it together.
