Synergy Rocks

The SE parts just really puts this heli over the top! at one of the fields were i fly there are a few JR vibe guys, 600n guys, fury guys, electric guys, and they are really looking at the synergy hard. They love the way it looks in the air flying around so smooth. There will be some conversion in the near future.

so fly hard !!!!!

Hmmmm....

Going by the title of the thread, I expected to see a comparison of some sort.
Am I missing something here??

I'll give you a comparison:

Synergy: Flies like it is attached to your brain. Has a few issues that the Hyper parts fix.

Aurora: The box looks good from the pictures I have seen.

Avant's can only fly in the skilled hands of a pro. There are no average joe's flying Avant's. Anyone can fly a Synergy, just buy one

Nick
If the wings are travelling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter

Not true, there are many average joe's flying the Avant FX/EFX. The Aurora is another story.

I'm aware of the flying charcteristics of the N9 (being a very proud owner of one)

I was expecting to see a comparison of how much better than the Aurora it is

I realise this.

I thought maybe an "ordinary" person got a pre-release & had a comparison between the two.

That's all.

Sorry I should have been more specific... I know there are FX/EFX's out there. I should have said AURORA's. But I think everyone else knew what I was getting at

I knew what you meant.

I got a pre-release version of the Aurora and an N9. My friends have also flown my Aurora and N9. I also let kyle, quicksilver here on rr fly them both at the gathering. The Aurora is lighter in the air and more responsive. This is with the normal settings on the head(not super active). The N9 is smooth. I would say it feels more linear. With the Aurora you tell it want you want and it does it VERY QUICKLY and you better be ready on what to do next. With the N9 you tell it what to do and it will do it just not as fast but smoother.
Just for the record my N9 has better servos running at 6v and a JP modified OS SZ with cline moded carb and VH. My Aurora has a c-spec w/ cline moded carb and vh and slightly slower servos than my N9. my head speed isn't to crazy either. I think they run at 1850 and 1920-1950ish respectively.

I take it your two N9's are bone stock with no hyper upgrades and you didn't have to buy the chrome balls or do the bearing mod on the head? I guess you got one of the later kits. you lucked out.

All the kits sold from November 2006 came with chrome balls and the kits made after late 2007 have the head mod. So I guess everyone buying new kits are lucking out.

He lucked out that he waited and the head mod was done and it came with chrome balls. I bought my kit before any of that was done.

That's cool. I have an N9 from the first batch (summer 2006) and it doesn't have many upgrades; hub, collar, O rings. It still has some original non-chrome balls. As for the other new Synergy parts I'll get them installed when I crash and need to replace the parts. I don't care that the marketing has changed, the changes that Synergy is making is great news.

For the head mod you can do it your self. Just need two bearings and longer button head screws. The spacer between the bearings is nice as you don't need to shorten the screws.

Can you say what cyclic and pitch values are set for both your N9 and pre-release version of the Aurora? For a good comparison you need to run the same settings, same headspeed, main blades, servos, motor, etc.

They are set-up identical 11+/- on pitch and 7 on cyclic. the servos are different because the better servos came out after the Aurora was together. As far as HS the SZ likes to run at a higher HS than the C-spec. I have to say with the moded SZ it's hard to bog the motor and if by chance I do it comes up to speed quickly.
