Just got a quickie(helicopter)and from whats being said it seems like it may be a better electric heli. I am only familiar with micro electrics. My question is what motor, esc, and servo woulld be the best.(not the most expensive but best value for your $)What about a motor mount .Also is this thing too heavy to be an electric?

Quick-E

I will be putting Hitec HS-225s in mine. I am going to use the JR Servo adapter plates so that the servos will fit easily.

As far as the motor, I am really trying to decide which one will be best. The Hacker B50-11L is a great choice and will be a power house. The Hacker C40 series is MUCH lighter and offers more pinion options, but it might not be enough power.

If you go with a hacker motor, I would go with either the Hacker esc, or Schultz. It really depends on your budget.

I also would consider using Eco 470 blades and that will give you a larger rotor disk without any mods and the tail boom is long enough to support it.

Hope that helps

Jim!

I have the Hacker/Schultz combo in my Hornet and I love it. (except the cost). Is there a motor mount that already exist for this conversion? What do you think about the weight issue?or is there one? Sorry for all the ?s but the nearest store that sells helicopters is 90 miles away so most of what I have learned is from a bbs.

The B50 flys the Raptor conversion with ease. There is a thread on www.ezonemag.com which links to videos of the Raptor flying with this motor. (I believe it is the B50...). The B50 is used in the Logo 10 which is heavier than the Quick 15, so it has more than enough power.

As for a motor mount, no, nothing right now, but I have a machinist buddy that I am going to bug until he makes me one. Once I figure out which motor I am going to use. Another thing to consider is what pinion you will be using. If you are using a C40 series motor, there are all sorts of car and truck pinions available. I'm not sure about the B50...
