I have a Futaba FX-40, almost the same as 14mz but in other style.

When I switch it on, I get the message "Now Loading..." and noting more happen, I have wait 5 min. I can´t swith it off and I need to take out the battery, but the next time when I start it it is the same situation.

I have tried to put the software on the CF card and tried to reinstall the software but it is the same situation. "Now Loading"

Is it possible to reset the windows software?

Any Idea

if I remember correctly, in the 14mz battery compartment there is a small red button next to the battery. If you press it with a screwdriver its going to hard reset. you will loose configs and model memories but if that doesn't start it, only a futaba service might help

When you add an update from the card you need to move the switch next to the card. If you have done that, you will need to turn the switch off. Just a thought. Hope you get it fixed.

Thank you for the info. I have tried to press the switch, no difference. I have meassured the voltage over the battery and it it ok. I have also shot cirket the battery for approx 10s to make a reset, no difference.

If I take out the battery for approx 1h, I can restart and get it to boot and work normaly for 2-3 min and after that it restart with info abot "Now Loding.." and after that I ger a Windows window with Japanise sign, I can´t read it. After a restart, with the power switch, I get this windows every time. I have tried again to take out the battery and wait for approx 10 min and a new normal boot is possible but it restarts again after 30s and restart again and again until I take out the battery.

The Switch for update is in correct possition, I have already ckeked it.

Any Idea

I suppose you have started it without the cf card inserted right?

I don't have much more ideas besides the ugly one... service center

I would copy the 14MZ update to your card and try to update the radio again. There is a chance some thing is wrong with the program.

When did the radio start doing this? Did you try to add and update or any thing like that?

It is the same problem without the CF card.

If I take out the battery and wait approx 10 min. I can now restart it and get it to work normally for 30s and after that it restarts, same as you switch it on and sometimes the screen freeze.

In all situations I need to take out the battery to shut it down.

I have also measured the tx battery voltage under start up and it is around 9V so it is ok.

Futaba service or reinstall software ??

I can copy model data from transmitter to CF card, if I get the transmitter to work in more than 5s. I can also see and copy the card in my computer.

I have also found the the clock is changed to year 2022.

I have already test to reinstall the software from 2007 03 but it freeze the screen after 25% to 75% of loading.

I have also tried to reinstall the older software from 2007 01 with 14mZ utility included in the software pack. After 8 tries with frozen screen, I got a complete load. I take out the CF card, changed switch and restart the transmitter. The situation is the same with freeze screen and sometimes windows with Japanese sign and hang.

My bee I need to send it to Futaba service
