Who's paying 599 for a 600 pro ? thats insane. I don't think anyone pays MSRP for a t600. There all over the web for 430-500

You can't compare prices now that the 600N has almost one year on the market.

Here is a real case scenario (my own):

Owner of the first batch of 600N Pro arriving at Europe in June 2007. I paid 525€ for one kit plus shipping (same price across europe)

Owner of the first batch of Vibe 50 worldwide in March 2008. I paid 521€ (same price around europe)

I bought another 6 kits at a discounted price of course but what matters is the street pice I paid when they both hit the market.

Tony, i wasn't the one comparing the prices. On the first page of this thread they were comparing kit prices, and mention the 600.0 cost of the trex 600. I was just stating that its a fictional price at this piont in time and shouldn't be used for comparing.

I kind of think its irrelevant when the Trex 600 came to market. We are well into the rc heli season for NA (spring/ summer) and i think JR is gonna have a hard time competing against the Trex 600.

The trex 600 does have a year lead, but Because of the high sales volume Align has they are able to reduce to their kit cost dramatically. I don't think JR has this advantage. Just look at the VIBE 90. its been out for a couple years. MSRP is 1099 and the cheapest i can find it for is 1089 from heliproz. I wont even mentions the spares.

I think JR needs to make a belt (sport) version of the Vibe 50, to get into that 450.00 sweet spot. They would sell really well at that price.

This is what I paid on May 2007 for my 2 trex 600n kits:

T600N_CF TRex 600 Nitro CF 2 $ 5 89.99 $ 1,179.98

And they have me a discounts because from were I remember I spend like 3 to 4K in that order.
If I am correct I think the 600n was originally at $ 620

Lets keep the Vibe 50 as is, and let the rest of the sheep have the 600N

BELTS SUCK! They are like header tanks!

I don't think you can compare these machines. Nothing says that all machines in the 90 size class, 50 size ect... all have to be priced the same. You get what you pay for and there are reasons why the Align's are priced as they are. Alot of people like them, personally I don't and never really did. My Raptor with the Kasama head flew more precise. I sold the Titan to buy the Vibe and glad I did because the Vibe is just plain awesome. It is a beautiful build and flys even better then it looks. I still have the 600N and use it to practice as a beater because the parts are cheaper (which really depends on what you break).

Bottom Line:
The 600N is a good 3D machine to beat around, if you like big precice manuevers it really lacks due to odd flight tendencies and the fact that the nose pitches in FFF.
I remember when I first built it, it took me about 25 flights to have a good comfort level with its reactions.

The Vibe is a great 3D machine that is fast and agile that has great precision when you want it to. By my 4th flight I was into my normal routine and feeling really connected with the machine. The term "tracks like its on rails" gets thrown around alot, however this thing really does. It will fly FFF with very little to no input to keep it there.

Both machines perform in 3Dequally well, the Vibe just feels more precise in my opinion.

I personally prefer belts.. I think its great to give the customer the choice. Wasn't JR testing the vibe with a belt setup ? What ever happened to that ?

Now Seriously

I don’t think JR can make a shipper machine, they don’t need, and I really think they like top line products.

I don’t remember haw much I spend on my 2 600n on needed upgrades but it was too much! If I add that amount I can warranty it was much expensive than the vibe at the end of the day.

I've basically stopped comparing the Vibe 50 to the Align 600N, its no comparison for me anymore. I am having 20 times more fun and after about 28 flights of 3D, it is still tight. Couldn't say that about my 600N after that many flights.

not to mention support at least on this side of the pond. Examples:

Andy @ Realraptors: you need it, he has it. If not, a call to macgregor and he will get it. If that goes wrong, he has no problem telling you what store could have it in stock (never happen with the vibe though. He is the only store in the UK that has everything in stock)

Iberian JR Importer: Should win the "worst Internet page on the planet" award BUT I sent a fax at 11:32am with a list of parts and got a formal pre-order invoice with EVERYTHING in stock at VERY GOOD prices at 12:13am. The only thing that they didn't have in stock was the tail hub which was replaced by the Vibe90 tailhub that seems to be hardened steel so no problem.

HeliWorld in Germany: Low stock but will get any JR part in a matter of 5 days (I guess from Japan).

When I started this thread I check 600N pricing from Readyheli, they were listing the Pro at $599, they are now listing it for $549, I am sure if I flogged the net, I would have found it cheaper but I was just wanting a reference price. I paid $579.00 for my Vibe 50 which just went down that week from $599. There has been an major drop in 600N prices, maybe Align felt the pressure from the Vibe 50 hitting the market. Believe me, it wouldn't be a far fetched statement that Align watches all competitors pricing and adjust accordingly. Alex, the owner of Align has the resources from his small appliance business to make his heli hobby/business the king, he has proven that. He knocked Mikado off the electric thrown and Thunder Tiger off the Nitro thrown. In general Align is the king of the Heli business, and everyone is working hard to keep up or beat them out.I bought a Trex 450xl when it first came out and the quality was just barely above crash and trash and you paid almost the same for an early all plastic 450XL as you do now for the latest 450SE V2. The more you sell, the more money available to make improvements and ability to keep your price point. Its basic business. We are already seeing Vibe 50 kit prices dropping and more dealers are stocking replacement parts, because the demand is there.

lose

I have flown both.
Vibe tracks way way better! For the extra few bucks I would get the Vibe hands down,it just looks like a better machine! The parts look to be not badly priced too. The Vibe is a clear winner.
