My local hobbyshop sold three Vibes in the first week and still had the same 600N's sitting on the shelf. Now that JR is bringing the price down to compete, people are gonna get on the bandwagon because everyone knows JR is good stuff. Just a matter of time.

To me, the Vibe fly's unbelievable...my problem is gonna be getting a grip on flying something that tosses around like a 400heli but I am staring at a 50 doing it. Its a whole sight and sound thing. Once I adjust its gonna be beautiful!

I don't really find the Vibe parts that much more expensive, especially when you kick in the quality. I do wish more people supplied them.

A good example of design between a Vibe and a Trex. The TR uses self tapping screws to hold the tailboom pinion assembly onto the sideframes, the Vibe uses 2mm hex bolts which mate with hexagon spacers that are assembled into the pinion assembly. The TR uses self tapping screws to secure all the ball joints on all the control arm assemblies. JR uses fine thread screws backed by nuts.

Its the little things that count.

The only reason I keep my Trex around is it matches my Yak

I have a trex sport and pro which I dont like flying anymore. The vibe takes the spot light.

The Vibe has my vote

Now only if they would drop the price on the 90 parts.

Well I don't know about the 90 but the 50 is going to suffer and very soon... rpp price of the kit has increased £70 and the canopy will increase £10... don't know about the other spare parts. Not sure if it is just an UK tendency or general. I've been checking prices across europe and they havn't started to rise yet.

Best thing right now is to have extra kits to use as donor parts...

Basically the V50 is never going to beat the 600N because of cost. Lets not get into a pi55ing competition over which flies better, its all about market share. Oh and 8.5 to 1 rules

Not so sure about it. I was pretty much upset that JR came out with the 8.7 ratio but I also have the rjx conversion kit (that fits the vibe) and honestly... I prefer the 8.7.

I can tic toc all day long, land, check the graphs and anybody who didn't see me fly would swear that I was hovering the entire time as there are almost no engine rpm flutuations. Try that with a 8.5 ratio.

I think JR is making a HUGE EFFORT selling at $ 599 with this Quality.

On the other hand Align is making a fortune selling at $ 600.

3DX, that is the smartest thing I have ever read on this website. You said it ALL in just two brief sentences.

I also sold my one remaining Trex 600n for the Vibe 50. Smartest heli related move I've made to date.

give me nitro or give me death

To change the gear ratio?

Yes.

All you need is the 85T helical gear from rjx and the helical clutchbell 10T. Both items fit into the vibe.

The only thing you will need is to drill the pockets for the magnets on the rjx clutchbell as it doesn't have any.

It will be more silent because of the helical mesh but you will need better collective managment to explore the 8.5 ratio. It does bog a little more than the 600N. Not sure why but probably has something to do with the 170/20 vs 85/10.

Maybe I should give it another (longer) test but I just enjoy flying that machine, I really hate stopping and changing the stuff

I can add to this mess in confirming that what gear ratios should do in theory and what they actually do in real life is sometimes seriously something different. Please don't ask my why but we've done this in controlled testing with accurate equipment, needless to say we're still puzzled. This testing was done on my F3C machines where we really thought the one gear ratio was much more suited for the RPM ranges we were running at and it simply was not the case.

Well I'm not sure what your case was but although the 8.5 ratio works fine in the 600N and the 8.7 isn't that great on the evo, the vibe seems to like 8.7 more than 8.5 (at least mine)

Both my Vibe and Titan do well at 8.7 though I wouldn't tear apart another Raptor to convert it, nor would I tear down my Titan to put it back to 8.5
