Vario Sky Fox - Benzin - Evolution - Xtreme > benzin trainer canopy problem

On my benzin trainer, whilst fixing the canopy I have real trouble locating the knurled screw on the front lower canopy. I located the hole by marking the boss on the tray with engineers blue, fixing the two upper canopy screws and then pushing the canopy up until I got a blue mark on the inside of the canopy. The hole does indeed line up and if I turn the heli upside down I can fix the screw ok, but with such a big heli it is extremely dificult to do. Is there a knack to fitting this giant canopy easily?
Thanks
Tim

You use a bright small light inside the canopy...You will see the round outline on the outside, just put a dot in the center of the outline, and drill it out..Actually, you want to use a hole cutter for fiberglass to do the job right

Thanks for the replies-Bill I have already drilled the hole the problem is getting the screw lined up with the boss, but thank you for your reply.
John I will if I have to cut a hole to make it easier, so thanks for the advice, but does anyone know of a way without cutting holes in the canopy?

After awhile you can do it by feel. You can also look from the rear of the canopy towards the front. Look below the landing gear. You should be able to see the screw threads. Then line it up with the boss.

Canopy

Put the bottom one in FIRST then the 2 side ones and you will find it real easy!

I wish Vario would Bring back the old canopy with the clear screen!!!! it was better for so many reasons!

Regards

Thanks guys for all the replies, it seems I just need to learn HOW to fit the canopy by feel, so I will wait a while to see if I can learn the knack.

Sorry Tim, I'm getting old....To add one more thing, I put fuse into about the right position, and put the lower ones through the hole, then you can move it around feeling the outline of the stand off, then feel for the center as you screw it in...
I'm sure you'll get the hang of it..It was awkward at first, now, I can do it with no problem...
