Miniature Aircraft Nitro/Gas Helicopters > Rubber Tubing on Spindle, Still Needed In the Fury With One Piece Dampeners?

You know that piece of rubber silicone tubing that you put on the spindle, between the dampeners, is that still needed with the newer one piece dampeners? Mine is all shredded and I don't have a spare. Can I get away without it? I don't really understand what it does anyways, besides maybe keep metal from touching metal in the middle of the head?

You fly RC helicopters? Can I have a ride?

It does assist with the dampning , but I haven't used it for years ; can't see that it'd do a thing with the one piece dampners installed ....

It's unneeded with the 90D one piece dampers; there's precious little axle movement with them. Softer ones (50,60, or 70) are another matter.
