It takes well over 100 hours to construct a detail assembly manual.
within a week of its release, it will be posted here or on some other lesser travelled site, or just emailed between friends.
Copyrights, digital rights protections, all that stuff is nice but enforcement would cost far more than the likely return from such a venture. Even a protected file would be printed out, scanned back in and distributed.
Works for the manufacturers because its part of the cost and adds value to the kit and can be distributed with the kit. The copyright is only an issue if somebody else tries to then sell it.
A venture to do standalone manuals (no matter how good they turnout) would be a money loser so unless somebody wanted to just do it for fun, I wouldn't expect to see too many of them. |
