| Another thing that is very helpful is to pre-thread the holes where the bolts that hold the aluminum strut to the plastic brace (to which the mechanics bolt). These are a PITA to get going because they are right at the edge of the fuse.
As mentioned, chamfering the holes in the frame also helps a bunch!
One poster actually used studs mounted in the frame, but I would think that would be difficult to maneuver into position.
One of my major complaints about this kit is that the screws that hold the whole thing together are machine threads into plastic. You have to take it apart occasionally for maintenance, and you can only screw a bolt into plastic so many times before it strips out...which one of mine has... |
