hi

have no clue do you,, these are not your old tt motors are even really designed or made by tt,, 2.1 hp @ 17000 what's so funny about that?? it is a .53 motor with a bigger piston , ect,, it should have more hp... you guys should really read up on the specs./reviews of the redline,, or even check up on the posts,,,,, tch. you ever get a 600n to run a head speed of 2335 on a ys????

Looks like your the one with no clue, there's more to it than just a little bit bigger piston. Carb size, port timing, There is no way this engine will make power above 17500 RPM, sure it might fly better because of the high headspeed but the power curve of the engine is not at 19500 RPM

Sure I did but I'm not sadistic. The engine won't last long at all.

At 3Dx Spain, most were running 2230rpm with the Hyper and 2100 with the YS.

I personally like 2050 at a 8.7 ratio the most (thats 17850rpm on the engine). I did several flights without a governor and loaded up the head as much as I could. The resulting rpm charts show that my YS was naturally setteling at 17850 under load so I assume its pretty close to its max torque value.

Ok. back to the topic, is there anything else I should be watching for during the build, what about reinforcing the area where the canopy mounts go? I herd of some of them breaking in flight.

They are called frame savers... thats exactly their purpose... To break and separate the canopy from the frames and save them.

I just broke 3 of them after a hard landing (well, I can't call it a landing... it was more like a splash on the ground lol) and the frames survived without a hick. The bird slided 9 feet over dirt and rocks, landing gear broke, flybar bent and the canopy jumped off right on first impact.

I will not make the frame savers beefier risking frame damage even though they are pretty cheap to replace (cheaper than align's) but just thinking about the work involved...

Why is it so funny? Because HP comparisons are useless between manufacturers.

Unless you put all of them on a dyno, test them with the same fuel, in the same weather conditions, and on the same equipment, then they are nothing but advertising hype.

Especially when american HP have nothing in common with european HP... metric HP (also called PS) is different from SAE HP (american).
